Eating in the Perhentian Islands Plastic Free

The Perhentian Islands are a true paradise and As tourists we are also responsible for taking care of their ecosystem. so that they can continue to be so for many more years.

A very simple (and significant) act is to avoid buying bottled water. I recommend bringing your bottle from home and refilling it with filtered water. Some hotels offer this for free and also There are businesses that will refill it for you at 1 myr – 0,20€ per litre..

I leave you here the image of a very interesting map that I found with points where you can refill water, recycling bins and Perhentian restaurants where they don't use plastic straws. I haven't seen a more updated version than this one from 2019, we use the Espresso water refill (does not appear on the map).
