Pau (FR) - Co-founder of Viajeroslowcosteros

Hi! I'm Pau, from Terrassa, and I've always been a very curious and resourceful person, passionate about geography, and with some difficulty saying no. These skills led me to co-found the Travelers bloglowcosteros with Alba, the driving force behind this project, which had been in the works for a long time, even before we traveled so much, when we didn't have much to write about.

I'm someone who enjoys working with numbers, which is why I studied engineering. I probably wouldn't pass a single exam today, but I'm still good at solving problems, so I'm...carGo to the technical part of the blog.

✈️My relationship with travel

As a child I traveled with my family, mostly around Spain, and I loved it, but I developed a real passion for backpacking during an Erasmus exchange in Wrocław.Poland, a country I hold dear. carSpecial child. Despite having a budget of only €400 per month for all my expenses living alone, I couldn't resist taking advantage of the location and the extremely cheap buses of the now defunct company. PolishBus all with Visit at least one new country each month where I had never been before.

But without a doubt, my travel masterclass began in 2021, when Alba convinced me to pool all our savings and to leave our jobs in Barcelona to travel through Latin America Travelling as backpackers on a very tight budget for a year. Years later, I have no doubt that it was a great decision.

I'm the kind of person who finds it hard to decide what to do, but once I start, I can't stop. Our initial plan was completely changed and has now stretched to over four years, during which we've visited dozens of countries on every continent and lived in unforgettable places like Iceland.

😍What I like most

Some of the things I love most about traveling are Sample local dishes, go whale watching, visit ruins, go on safaris, interact with local people, dive, and hike through mountain trailsI used to need to have every trip planned down to the last detail, but now what I enjoy most is improvising and traveling slowly, although I still need to improve on the latter.

For me, the perfect destination must meet at least some of these requirements: a varied local cuisine, full of fresh produce and spices, breathtaking natural landscapes, the opportunity to see interesting wildlife both above and below the water, and a rich and interesting history.

I haven't found a country that meets all my criteria yet, but some of my favorite destinations are Malaysia, South Africa y New Zealand.

📷My unforgettable moments

These past few years I've been able to see and experience incredible things, and it would take me several hours to mention them all. But these are some of the things that have impacted me the most and that A few years ago I wouldn't have even been able to imagine:

  • Visit indescribable ruins like the Pyramids of Egypt, Angkor Wat and the Great Wall of China.
  • Feeling like I was in a documentary on my first safari.
  • Imagine being woken up by whales in the middle of the night.
  • Flying in a helicopter and a small plane in amazing places.
  • Enjoy movie-worthy mountain landscapes like those in Iceland, Argentina, or New Zealand.
  • View Aurora borealis while I work.
  • Diving on every continent, with dives as special as those in the Maldives or the Great Barrier Reef.
  • Driving on the sand of an Australian beach during sunset.
  • Navigating jungle rivers like the Amazon.
  • Go up six thousand.
  • See a volcanic eruption in person.
  • And the most unexpected, to earn a living by traveling.
  • Pau climbing the Great Wall of China
